“To drink tea is to forget the world” The Tajik Tearooms are located on the first floor of the historical Palais. Guests can enjoy their tea specialities in traditional Tajik style on large, comfortable cushions.
The room has several decoratively hand-carved columns made of sandalwood and Tajik heroic legends are depicted on the walls.
The Tajik Tearooms, which are true to the original, were exhibited in the Soviet pavilion at the Leipzig conference centre in 1974. Following that, they were given to the German-Soviet Friendship Society as a present. The society had their headquarters in the Palais from 1959 to 1999. Spend some time here and enjoy the special ambience with a large selection of teas as well as typical Tajik tea specialities. Our menu offers both Russian and international cuisine.
During the winter months, we offer a series of events under the title “The fairytale world of tea”, which take place on Monday evenings at around 7.30 pm. Allow yourself to be taken to another world at these magical events. Our programme includes stories from 1001 Arabian nights, Russian fairytales, Celtic legends and readings by authors.
